KeraStraight - Step by Step
Before KeraStraight - Zoe's hair has dark naturally wavy hair with a few bleached highlights. The hair is dry with very little shine.
As you can see from the picture to the right, there is much that can be improved and KeraStraight is the perfect treatment for this type of hair. Our Step-by-Step procedure and photos are detailed below!
Step 1 - Clarifying Shampoo
The hair was gently cleansed with KeraStraight Clarifying Shampoo. Care was taken not to rub the head and the shampoo was smoothed through before rinsing. On virgin hair, the shampoo should be left on for 10 minutes to open the cuticle.
Step 2 - Blow Dry 100%
100% of the moisture was dried from the hair in preparation to the application.
Step 3 - Apply KeraStraight
Starting at the nape, KeraStraight was applied close to the roots through to the ends.
Step 4 - Leave for up to 20 Minutes
There is no need for development time, except on virgin or very resistant hair which benefits from letting the treatment sink in for 20 minutes.
The image to the right shows the intensive conditioning of the KeraStraight solution while on the hair.
Step 5 - Blow Dry 100%
Blow Dry KeraStraight treatment into the hair, ensuring that the hair is 100% dry. For styles with more volume, blow dry with a round brush to achieve root lift.
Step 6 - Iron 10 Times Each Section
Starting at the nape, using a 230 degree ceramic straightening iron, iron each section 10 times until the steam dissipates as the treatment is sealed into the hair.
Step 7 - Iron with Easy Comb
The Easy Comb allows the hair to be easily worked directly from the root using the 230 degree ceramic Irons.
Step 8 - Iron with Full Lift
The top can be ironed straight up. It is not necessary to establish where a client wears her hair as when shampooed the hair can be parted in any way required.
Step 9 - Kerastraight Finished Result
Once all the hair has been ironed, it must be left product free and not shampooed for 3 days.
Then KeraStraight Shampoo & KeraStraight Conditioner should be used which are Sodium Chloride free, (which would strip the Keratin from the hair) and will help to maximise the longevity of the treatment.
